Hello everyone (or the couple of people who might read this)! :) I haven't posted anything for a long time now (again, not because there hasn't been anything to share, but simply because I have been too busy with other things that this just doesn't make the top of the list). I am going to back up just a little bit and post the blessings that I would have posted last week if I had taken the time to post then.
Right now, as I have one child sitting on my lap and "helping" me type and another one circling the chair, I am so thankful to be a mama. This is exactly what I have always wanted to do with my life, and I am so thankful to God for enabling me to live this life! :)
I am also so very, sincerely thankful to all of the people who have fought for the many freedoms that are so easy to take for granted. I am also thankful to their families, who also sacrifice so much so that we can be free. And I don't believe that there are any words that can truly express the profound appreciation for those who ultimately gave their lives to protect our home. Thank you.
I was also very blessed to spend Memorial weekend with most of Randy's family. Four of his five sisters and their families came and camped out at our house for the weekend, and it was fantastic!!! :) We had such a great time! The kids played until they dropped, the grown-ups relaxed and visited, we had campfires and s'mores, fishing, fireworks and even some horse-back rides for the kids. The other wonderful thing is that everyone takes turns for making meals. Knowing that you only have 1 meal to make and clean up after is so nice! :) (I told everyone that they are all welcome to stay as long as they want, because I really kind of like that arrangement!) :)
In other news, Michael is completely grown up now. He runs around all over the place and is so proud of himself. :) He is such a sweet, funny little boy!
Abby also made my day the other day (well ok, a lot of days, but I am talking about this past weekend specifically). We have been working on memorizing scripture. I found a link on another blog for a really easy, low-stress, no pressure way of working on memorizing God's Word. The first verse we started with is Genesis 1:1. Emma and Timothy already knew that one, so we thought reviewing that would be an easy place to start. After a few times of saying it aloud, Abby also had that verse memorized! We made a really big deal out of letting her know how proud we are, and she has been very proud of herself. On Saturday, we were out shopping. We stopped at the pharmacy counter to pick up something, and as the lady was getting my information, Abby stood up in the cart and said "'In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.' Genesis 1:1." When the woman didn't respond, Abby said (louder) "Did you hear that? Genesis 1:1!!!" I think she didn't understand why the lady behind the counter wasn't as excited and proud as Abby was. (In the woman's defense, I don't think she heard Abby.) But it really made my day. :)
That is all for now, as I need to start thinking about making food for my beloved and my kiddos. :)
