We had a very eventful weekend! Saturday was Abby's third birthday! I cannot believe how quickly the time goes and how grownup she is becoming! (I know that when you first have kids, everyone tells you how fast the time will go, and I knew that, but I am still always shocked by the reality of it!) Saturday morning, we went to pick up some balloons that Grammy and Pa had ordered for her, ran a few errands and went out for lunch.
When we came home, we had baked Abby's birthday cupcakes. (I was going to try to make some kind of cute cake, but she saw Winnie the Pooh cupcake liners at the store and decided that is what she wanted.)
So, we had pink sprinkle cupcakes with purple sprinkle frosting, which the kids then loaded up with more sprinkles. :) They had a LOT of fun!
Then we had a little birthday party with Grandpa. Abby was so sweet and appreciative of her gifts! She has such a sweet heart and really wants to make others happy.
After that, the kids decorated Easter eggs. It went a lot better than I expected! Everyone took turns without fighting, and there were no major spills or accidents! The results were pretty cute. :)

Yes, we only did 9 eggs. I bought 1 dozen, and we needed 3 for the cupcakes. And no, Michael didn't color eggs this year. He didn't seem to mind. :)
Then Sunday was Easter! The kids were very excited to find their baskets, although I think they were kind of wishing they hadn't asked for them to be hidden. :) Abby felt bad that Randy and I didn't have any candy and kept giving us some of hers. :) Then we got everyone all fancy and ready for church. I wish we had gotten a picture of all of us, but at least we have pictures of all of the kids. :)
I enjoyed the Easter service, and the fact that the kids did a pretty good job of being quiet and well-behaved. After service, we went out for brunch at our favorite Chinese buffet and then came home. Since Michael had not been a terrific sleeper the night before (ok, he was a horrible sleeper and Mommy only got about 3 non-consecutive hours of sleep), I was able to take a little nap while Randy and the kids played.
I am very thankful for our precious children and their beautiful hearts. I am thankful for my beloved husband, who loves and cares for our family so faithfully. And I am especially thankful for salvation through Jesus' death and resurrection, and for God's love, faithfulness and forgiveness when I most certainly don't deserve it.

Love it!
